In an arcgis.gis. server module, when logging in to ArcGIS Enterprise Portal, the error, Error 500, returns in the web server logs.

The Python API works with multiple versions of ArcGIS Enterprise, and over the years it has had to guess what ArcGIS Enterprise portal backend URLs are valid. When a 200 is returned, that then knows what version of the ArcGIS Enterprise portal is being used.
