To use where clause in the search() appearance in the ArcGIS Survey123 web app, the special characters in the URL must be encoded. For example, if the URL has where parameter as (where=STATE_NAME LIKE '%AL%') it only works in Survey123 field app. However, if the where clause has encoded characters (where=STATE_NAME LIKE %27%25AL%25%27") the dynamic choice list works in both field app and web app.
