Chinese characters appear in the CadModel, RefName and Sub_Name fields in Point, Annotation, and Polyline features types from 'ron.dgn' when data is displayed in ArcMap or imported to a file geodatabase.

These characters are remnants of the original seed file used to create the DGN file in question.

Solution de contournement

Save ron.dgn to DWG format - this strips off the CELL definitions and eliminates the Chinese characters from the CAD data.
