ArcMap will crash when attempting to edit the contents of a cell, by clicking on the edge of the cell itself and hitting the Delete key.

Solution de contournement

Make sure to click inside the cell itself and see the flashing cursor. Use mouse to select contents of the cell then use Delete key. Or, click on right side of cell contents and use Backspace key.
