ArcGIS Open Data is unable to complete downloads of the ArcGIS Online hosted service, FEMA Flood Zones, from http://regional.capcog.opendata.arcgis.com/, which contains a complex geometry with a large number of vertices and displays the following error: "An error occurred while processing this dataset."

This is not really a bug in downloads as it is responding appropriately to a failure from ArcGIS server. This seems to be a configuration issue, we recommend that the customer first try increasing the SOC heap size on their server. That will allow each request to use more memory and may make it possible for the requests to complete.

Solution de contournement

Break the dataset up into subsets to be published as separate services, and shared to ArcGIS Open Data.
