Applying a filter via the web map only changes the features displayed, it does not change the features in the database. Go to the REST endpoint and query all features to ensure that the total number of features in Map Viewer is the same as the number of features in the source service. The correct workflow for limiting the features accessible in the database in Map Viewer is via the Visualization tab (the workflow is outlined in the workaround of this bug). http://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/manage-data/set-view-definition.htm

Solution de contournement

Under the item details of the parent layer, select ‘Create View Layer’. From the item details page, select the ‘Visualization’ tab. Click the filter icon to set up a filtered view of the layer. Click ‘Apply Filter’. Select ‘Save Layer’ at the top of the page.When viewed on the Open Data site, only the filtered view is displayed.
