The issue is no longer reproducible in ArcGIS Desktop 10.7.

Solution de contournement

Follow one of the options below:
  • Export the .tif to a new location.
  • Delete the .aux.xml file related to the .tif after georeferencing.
Both methods delete the georeferencing information.
