The only way I have found to re-path data sources in a template file is this sequence:Copy the original template (MXT1) as a new name (MXT2).Run ArcMap, and from the file menu, Open MXT2, so that the template name appears in the map title bar.Go through the layes in the TOC, updating their data sources as desired.Save MXT2 and close it.Now any new maps that reference MXT2 will also reference the new data sources.
