ESRI® announces the Esri Maps for IBM Cognos 4.3 General Maintenance Patch. This patch applies to all Esri Maps for IBM Cognos 4.3 and addresses infinite loops, non-functional maps, and incorrect tooltips. It deals specifically with the issues listed below under Issues Addressed with this Patch.

Issues Addressed with this Patch

Core Vantage:

VAN-417 - Documentation: Restart Cognos dispatchers after "Apply All" in Configure.bat.
VAN-431 - Infinite loop on prompt collection.
VAN-435 - Maps not functioning when report is executed from Report Studio.

Map Studio:

MAP-648 -Map Studio does not correctly report required tooltip fields on save

Installing this Patch on Windows/Linux

Installation Steps:

To fully apply this patch in your environment, it must be installed into the Vantage root folder [Vantage Root] on all Vantage Gateway machines and all Vantage Server machines.

Example locations for [Vantage Root] are as follows. Your configuration may differ.

Windows: C:\Program Files\spoton\vantage

Linux: /opt/spoton/vantage

Follow the instructions for either Vantage Gateways or Vantage Servers:

Vantage Gateways

On all Vantage Gateway machines, perform the following steps:

Download (or copy) EM4C-43-Gen-Patch-Gateway.zip to anywhere you have write access.
Extract the contents of EM4C-43-Gen-Patch-Gateway.zip into the Vantage root folder [Vantage Root]. Be sure to overwrite existing files.
Restart the web server.

Vantage Servers

On all Vantage Gateway machines, perform the following steps:

Download (or copy) EM4C-43-Gen-Patch-Server.zip to anywhere you have write access.
Extract the contents of EM4C-43-Gen-Patch-Server.zip into the Vantage root folder [Vantage Root]. Be sure to overwrite existing files.
Restart the Vantage Service.

Note: Be sure to clear your internet browser cache before accessing any IBM Cognos reports.
