ArcInfo Workstation 9.1 ArcPress Licensing Patch on Windows

This Patch addresses a licensing issue when using ArcPress to print.

ESRI® announces the ArcInfo Workstation 9.1 ArcPress Licensing Patch on Windows. This Patch addresses a licensing issue when using ArcPress to print. It deals specifically with the issue listed below under Issues Addressed with this Patch.

All customers who use ArcPress to print from ArcInfo Workstation 9.1 on Windows 2000 and XP should download and install this Patch at their earliest convenience.

NOTE: This Patch is not required for ArcPress for ArcGIS Desktop 9.1; customers should be able to print successfully with ArcPress in ArcMap with or without this Patch.

Issues Addressed with this Patch

• CQ00273005 - ArcPress for ArcInfo Workstation 9.1 not working.
  
  
  • The main issue is:
    
    
    • ArcPress was made a free extension to ArcGIS at 9.1 (ArcView, ArcEditor and ArcInfo concurrent use licenses as well as ArcView and ArcEditor Single Use licenses). However, when trying to print or export with ArcPress for ArcInfo Workstation from an MS-DOS Command Prompt, the error ‘ArcPress Not Licensed!’ is returned. In other cases, the ArcInfo Workstation Print UI dialog box may disappear when attempting to print or export with ArcPress. This patch addresses both the command prompt and Print UI issues.

Installing this Patch

ArcInfo Workstation 9.1 must be installed before you can install this Patch.

1. Make sure you have write access to your ArcInfo Workstation installation location, and that no one is using ArcInfo.

3. Download ai91-ap-lic-patch.exe to a location other than your ArcInfo Workstation installation location.
   
   
4. Double-click the setup file to start the install process.
5. 
   
   
6. When Setup starts, follow the instructions on your screen.

NOTE: If you have installed client setups from a shared Network Administrative ArcInfo Workstation setup, this Patch must be applied to all client installations.

How to identify which Patch is installed

To check for the presence of a Patch, for each file examine the unique identification information provided (right click, properties, version tab, item name, QFE Version). With only a few exceptions, all files modified as part of a Patch distribution can be uniquely identified in this manner. The identification string for this Patch should read:
