ArcGIS Military Analyst 9.3.1 Upgrade for Windows, Linux, and Solaris

ESRI announces the upgrade for Military Analyst 9.3. This upgrade, Military Analyst 9.3.1, fixes issues found in Military Analyst 9.3. This upgrade is also known as a service pack.

We recommend that all Military Analyst customers using ArcGIS 9.3.1 download and install this upgrade, at their earliest convenience, to ensure the highest quality experience when working with Military Analyst. This upgrade is cummulative and renders all Military Analyst 9.3 hot fixes and service packs obsolete. You must have Military Analyst 9.3 installed prior to installing this upgrade.

Issues Addressed with this Upgrade


  • Fixed an issue with RPF Layer visibility when published as WMS Service (NIM042306).
  • Fixed an issue with editing data when a RPF layer is added to the map (NIM044175).
  • Fixed an Issue where running Analyze Tool on Military Analyst Catalogs crashed ArcMap (NIM045096).
  • Fixed an issue where the Threat Dome tool incorrectly allowed you to choose a Web service as the data source(NIM040477).
  • Known issue: The CoordinateDmstodd C++ sample will not compile.

Files Installed with this Upgrade for Windows


The upgrade installs the following files to the [ArcGIS installation directory]\ArcGIS\bin directory:

  • GpMAFunctions.dll
    MACommands.dll
    MALayer.dll
    MilitaryAnalystCoord2.dll
    military_analyst.chm

Installing the Upgrade on Windows

  1. Make sure you have write access to the
    [ArcGIS installation directory]\ArcGIS directory (by default, this is C:\Program Files\ArcGIS) and that no one is accessing the directory.
  2. Download the Windows file in the Downloads section below to a location other than the
    [ArcGIS installation directory]\ArcGIS directory.
  3. Double-click the .msp file to start the installation process.
  4. When the installation wizard (setup program) starts, follow the instructions on your screen.

Installing this Upgrade on Linux or Solaris

  1. Make sure you have write access to the
    [ArcGIS installation directory]\ArcGIS directory and that no one is accessing the directory.
  2. Download the Linux or Solaris file in the Downloads section below to a location other than to the
    [ArcGIS installation directory]\ArcGIS directory.
  3. Run ./Setup from a terminal window. You must not be the root user, and you must be logged in as the same user who installed the ESRI application with which you intend to use MOLE.

NOTE: If you have installed client setups from a shared Network Administrative ArcGIS Desktop setup, this Service Pack must be applied to all client installations.
