ArcGIS 10.0 SP2 (Desktop, Engine, Server) Topology Validation Patch
Resumen
Descripción
Esri® announces the ArcGIS 10.0 SP2 (Desktop, Engine, Server) Topology Validation Patch. This patch addresses an issue where exception geometry becomes corrupted during topology validation. It deals specifically with the issues listed below under Issues Addressed with this Patch.
Issues Addressed with this Patch
- NIM067085 - Validating topology returns “Validate Topology Failed”. A failure was detected inside the topology engine overlay processor, [error id: 109].
Description: When validating topology containing errors that have been marked as exceptions, the geometry of the exceptions may become corrupted. Attempting to validate the topology over these exceptions will fail with the message: “A failure was detected inside the topology engine overlay processor, [error id: 109]”. Underlying features are not affected by this issue. If you have encountered this error message, find corrupted exception shapes, or have any exceptions in your topology, you should follow the post installation instructions after installing this patch.

Post Installation Instructions:If you have encountered the error message in the description, find corrupted exception shapes, or have any exceptions in your topology, you need to modify the topology after installing the patch to ensure the topology is usable again. Since this issue only affects topologies that have exceptions, right-click the topology in the Catalog window, click Properties, click the Errors tab, and click Generate Summary to see a report of rules and their errors and exceptions. If there are exceptions in your topology, click the Rules tab and remove any rule containing an exception. You can leave the topology rules without exceptions intact. After you validate the topology, add the removed rules again. In some cases, it may be easier to delete the topology altogether and add the rules into a new topology. When the rules are removed, any previous exceptions will need to be re-marked as exceptions when you are editing the topology.
