Error

Unable to modify the shape feature using the Calculate Field tool when there are no pending edits and the following error message is returned, "ERROR 160107: Unable to update area or length field in response to shape update. Failed to execute."

The issue is not reproducible in ArcGIS Pro 2.9.2.

Solución alternativa

  • Run the tool with pending edits (for example, modifying or creating a new feature).
  • Attempt to modify the shape using a shapefile and then, export it back into a feature class.
