The symbology applied to a feature layer in Portal for ArcGIS does not display in the datasets tab of ArcGIS Enterprise Sites.

By design, to ensure a consistent experience for data consumers, ArcGIS Hub and ArcGIS Enterprise Sites do not honor the symbology settings for datasets. Symbology set at the item level is honored in the case of web maps, so in cases where symbology has to be honored, adding layers to a web map and adding the map to the site are recommended.
