The survey hangs when opening from the link if it is modified using Survey123 Connect Classic for ArcGIS 2.9.3.

This is a known limitation of using Survey123 Connect Classic. The Survey123 Website and Web form only support the version locking setting from version 3.0 onwards. Survey123 Connect Classic is version 2.9. Any surveys published with a version prior to 3.0 are automatically upgraded to the latest Web form version on loading.Solución alternativa
Republish a new survey form with the modification if a submission URL is used in ArcGIS GIS Server 10.3.1 .
Use Survey123 Connect for ArcGIS 3.0 when using ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS 10.4 and the later versions.
