The legend layout view in ArcGIS Pro displays incorrect point counts for a map series.

The symbols for the points near the edge of the boundary overlap with the boundary slightly and are included in the legend item count. The legend item count is based on the extent of the symbols, whereas the selection tool provides more options for what to include. This is explained in the legend item documentation, "To add feature counts to the legend, check the Show feature count check box. The feature count is based on the extent of the symbols applied to features at the reference scale. Part of a feature's symbol may appear in the map frame even when the coordinate geometry of the feature is outside the map frame extent.
