The error message, "Cannot set property 'innerHTML' of null " is returned when destroying the LayerList widget on on("load") event in ArcGIS API for JavaScript 3.23.

This would not work since users are automatically trying to call startup on an instance of myWidget that no longer exists (since the users just destroyed it). Set the timer if need to use in this workflow.

Solución alternativa

The current workaround is to follow step no. 5 of the second JS BIN link above.
