Error
The ArcPy updateConnectionProperties() function fails to update properties of enterprise geodatabase layers as expected when using an .sde file path for the new_connection_info parameter in ArcGIS Pro.

The "dataset" dictionary key/value pair is at the wrong sub-dictionary level. Moreover, this workflow can be accomplished with two enterprise geodatabase connection files with less complexity. A way to accomplish this, if more find grained control of enterprise geodatabase connection properties is needed, use the CIM module.
