Error
Sorting a feature class with the nvarchar(max) data type field takes longer in comparison to a feature class without it.

Recreate the field in a data type other than nvarchar(max), and remove the existing nvarchar(max) fields from the attribute table. Refer to the following documentation for more information, How To: Change the data type for an existing field.
