Change the storage format to 'High Precision using Esri Binary spatial type', and set the query (for example, SHAPE.area>=20000.000).

Or

Create an additional field that populates values from the SHAPE.STArea() or SHAPE.STLength() field using the Field Calculator, and create a query based on the new field.
