Solución alternativa

The load time is almost certainly a limitation of the software and likely has to do with the user's hardware as well.
The simplest workaround is to upgrade to 10.9.1 as Dashboard performance was an area of focus for the update.
The user themselves stated that they have been experimenting with the 10.9.1 Dashboard and have noted large performance increases over the 10.8.1 counterpart.
The user was informed of this and requested that their issues with performance be noted as a bug/ Enhancement Request and stated that they will look further into the performance improvements associated with upgrading to 10.9.1.
