Error

In ArcMap, new 'Double' data type fields with the precision of 6 and a scale of 2 added to an existing feature class are not saved automatically as 'Float' data type.

When creating a field as a double type select a precision that is valid for the type (e.g. >= 7) and select a precision that is valid for the type (e.g. 1-6) for a float type. Refer to, https://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/latest/manage-data/geodatabases/arcgis-field-data-types.htm.
