In ArcMap 10.0 Service Pack 2, MXDs become corrupt after saving when a legend is created from a raster layer that is within a basemap layer.

Solución alternativa

Workaround is to create the map in Service Pack 2 but exclude the legend, or delete it if it has already been created, and save the map. Then, upgrade to Service Pack 3, and create the legend.
