Error

If a basemap contains a layer from a dynamic map service that is not in the Web Mercator Auxiliary Sphere coordinate system, and then opened in a web application, upon switching the basemap, then switching back, the basemap layer from the dynamic map service is no longer be visible.

This is a known issue with the 3.x version of the Basemap Gallery. All basemaps in the gallery have to be in the same spatial reference.

Solución alternativa

When publishing the map service, change the data frame coordinate system to Web Mercator Auxiliary Sphere.
