As a workaround, users can set the TMPDIR variable in /arcgis/server9.4/bin/arcsoc.init file on Solaris and Linux to a path that does not contain the "." character.For example:Change these lines in arcsoc.init:TMPDIR=$installedProductLoc/servercore/tmp/arcgis; export TMPDIRTo this:TMPDIR=/tmp; export TMPDIRor this:TMPDIR=$HOME; export TMPDIRwhere $HOME is the users home directory
