Error
Changing the letter case of field names and field aliases from upper case to lower case, or vice versa, using arcpy.AlterField_management does not work in ArcMap.

ArcGIS Desktop (including ArcGIS Engine and ArcObjects) is in mature support and will be retired March 1, 2026. Mature support means the end of functionality-based patches and hotfixes; therefore, this issue will not be addressed. Apart from the letter case, change the field names as well.
