Error
Building network dataset fails with the error message, "Build network failed. no edit session in progress" when a feature participating in network dataset is deleted during an edit session.

ArcGIS Desktop (including ArcGIS Engine and ArcObjects) is in mature support and will be retired March 1, 2026. Mature support means the end of functionality-based patches and hotfixes; therefore, this issue will not be addressed. There are no plans for future releases of ArcGIS Desktop, and it is recommended that you migrate to ArcGIS Pro. - Make sure edits are saved immediately and network is successfully rebuilt before solving any network analyst problems.
- If this error is noticed in an edit session while rebuilding network, exit without saving.
