Error

Applying an map document template (MXT) that uses 'use printer paper' changes the map page to the default printer paper default media size, not to that in the MXT, even if the client machine has the same printer installed as saved in the MXT.

Solución alternativa

open the map template by first opening arcmap with a blank map, then going to File->Open Map and browsing to the MXT file. The page size and printer information WILL be retained in Page and Print setup.
