Error
Adding an anchored map to an Excel file and sharing the spreadsheet as an email attachment produces an empty map instead of a static image of the map.

This works properly.Solución alternativa
Instead of using the ArcGIS Maps for Office interface to email the spreadsheet, use the following workaround:- Save the Excel spreadsheet.
- Attach the Excel file to an email manually.
