Error

Adding a sublayer of a Web Map Service (WMS) in ArcGIS Explorer Desktop also displays the last ten layers listed in the service in the map and legend.

Solución alternativa

1. Add the full WMS with all sublayers instead of adding a sublayer. 2. Turn off the visibility of the unneeded layers from the Contents pane.
