Error
A shapefile is added in ArcGIS Pro, and the Layer Search tool is used to edit any element of the shapefile attribute used, but when attempting to save the edit, the following error message, "Save edits failed Cannot acquire a lock.Cannot acquire a lock" is returned.

Import the shapefile to a file geodatabase or enterprise geodatabase. The Layer Search tool can be used to make edits successfully.
