Problem: ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Administrator (for ArcMap, ArcGIS Engine, ArcGIS CityEngine) or License Server Administrator (for ArcGIS License Manager) do not function properly after deleting the Flexnet directory

Description

On rare occasions, the Flexnet directory under C:\Program Data\ may have been deleted due to removing corrupt licenses. Beginning with ArcGIS Pro 2.9, ArcMap and ArcGIS Engine 10.8.2, ArcGIS CityEngine 2021.1, or ArcGIS License Manager 2021.1, this may cause the application, ArcGIS Administrator, or License Server Administrator, to not function or allow new authorizations to be undertaken.

Solution or Workaround

  1. Close the application, and manually create the directory named Flexnet under C:\Program Data\.
  2. Restart the application and proceed with authorization.

In the case of the License Manager, it may be necessary to stop the license service under the Start/Stop License Service dialog of the License Server Administrator before closing the application. After creating the Flexnet directory, start the license service under the Start/Stop License Service dialog before proceeding with authorization.
