PROBLEM

Unable to configure layer actions in ArcGIS Dashboards

Last Published: November 18, 2021

Description

When attempting to configure layer actions (flash, filter, and pan) for a map element in ArcGIS Dashboards, the message ‘No layers found for actions’ is returned, as displayed in the image below.

A message is returned on the Map page when attempting to add layer actions in the Map element.

In a situation where layer actions are configured in the map element, clicking certain map features using the selection tool causes the tool to load indefinitely.

The selection tool loads indefinitely when selecting certain features on the map.

Cause

The web map in the dashboard contains map image layers. A dashboard’s web map can contain map image layers, but it is a known limitation that layer actions are not supported for map image layers.

Solution or Workaround

Instead of using map image layers, publish the data as feature services to configure layer actions for the elements in ArcGIS Dashboards. For steps, refer to ArcGIS Server: Feature service publishing options or ArcGIS Online: Publish hosted feature layers.
