A datum transformation validation warning message is returned when running the ProjectZ tool in ArcGIS Pro

Description

The ProjectZ tool is designed to transform the collected GPS latitude, longitude, and altitude values into 3D points as well as convert altitude (height above ellipsoid) values into elevation values. When transforming the vertical datum, the following error message is returned:

WARNING:
0001837: Cannot validate datum transformation.

Cause

• This is a known error. Refer to ArcGIS Pro: 001837: Cannot validate datum transformation for more information.
• No prior installation of ArcGIS Coordinate Systems Data for ArcGIS Pro.

Solution or Workaround

Install ArcGIS Coordinate Systems Data for ArcGIS Pro

1. Navigate to the My Esri website and log in with the organization credentials.
2. Select My Organizations > Downloads.
3. Under Core Products, click View Downloads for ArcGIS Pro.

4. Click Expand/Collapse All.
5. Under Data and Content, search for ArcGIS Coordinate Systems Data for ArcGIS Pro Per User Install and click Download.
