ArcGIS Maps for SharePoint (Classic) Deprecation

Description

The ArcGIS Maps for SharePoint (Classic) is being deprecated in September 30th, 2022. The functionality in ArcGIS Maps for SharePoint (Classic) is replaced by ArcGIS for SharePoint. There will be no active development in Classic, and all future works is in the modern ArcGIS for SharePoint application. As the names indicate and in alignment with Microsoft, we are focused supporting the application and frameworks Microsoft is migrating all their customers to.

The ArcGIS Maps for SharePoint (Classic) will no longer receive bug fixes or have technical support after September 30, 2022. It will remain available for download for customers who use it on premises, but it will be removed from Microsoft App Source on October 31st.

Recommendation

Customers should migrate to the modern ArcGIS for SharePoint application to embed maps in any of their pages, map SharePoint lists with XY values, as well as geotagging and searching for documents.

Customers who need to use the locate workflow to geocode data in lists dynamically or to populate feature services from a SharePoint list will move to Power Automate flows.
