Unable to move a feature in a parcel fabric in ArcGIS Pro

Description

Attempting to move a feature in a parcel fabric fails and returns the following error message:

Error: 
Move failed. Layer is not editable. Review errors in the Status dialog or in List by Editing view of Contents pane.

 

Cause

The parcel fabric map is opened in multiple maps or views within the same ArcGIS Pro project. In the editing map, all the layers are marked as editable. In the other maps, for example, when editing annotations, the parcel fabric layers are not editable. This causes the layers in the editing map to produce the error message when attempting an edit.

Solution or Workaround

1. In the ArcGIS Pro project, close all the maps and views such as the Layout view.
2. Save the project, and close ArcGIS Pro.
3. Open ArcGIS Pro, and reopen the project containing the parcel fabric map.
4. In the Contents pane, click the List By Editing tab, and ensure all the layers are checked to enable editing. The features can be moved.
