How To: Move ArcGIS Data Store from one location to another, for example C: to D:

Summary

In some situations it may be necessary to move ArcGIS Data Store to another drive, such as when running out of disk space. Rather than increasing or freeing up disk space, it may be more feasible to move the data store to another drive, such as from the C drive to the D drive.

Procedure

Note:
To use the ArcGIS Data Store command utilities, launch Windows Command Prompt and change the directory to <ArcGIS Data Store installation directory>\datastore\tools
  1. Create a backup of the data store. Refer to Portal for ArcGIS: backupdatastore for more information.
  2. Unregister the data store. Refer to Portal for ArcGIS: unregisterdatastore for more information.
  3. Restore the data store and register it to the new location. Refer to Portal for ArcGIS: restoredatastore for more information.

The following is an example of the command utility syntax for restoring the data store to a new location:

C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\DataStore\tools>restoredatastore.bat --target backupnameofthedatastore --source-loc C:\arcgisdatastore\backup\relational --data-dir D:\arcgisdatastore --server-url https://serverhostname.domain.com:6443 --server-admin arcgis --server-password password123
