Error Message

When attempting to download a survey in the ArcGIS Survey123 field app on an Android mobile device, the following error message is returned:

Cause

The ArcGIS Survey123 field app lacks the permission to access the storage of the mobile device.

Solution or Workaround

Use one of the following workarounds to resolve this issue.

Enable permissions for the ArcGIS Survey123 field app

1. Navigate to the mobile device’s settings. Click Apps > Manage Apps > Survey123 > App permissions.
2. Under App permissions, enable Storage.

Uninstall and reinstall the ArcGIS Survey123 field app

1. Uninstall and reinstall the ArcGIS Survey123 field app. Refer to ArcGIS Survey123: Install the Survey123 field app for instructions. 
2. Launch the ArcGIS Survey123 field app.
3. When prompted to enable the ArcGIS Survey123 field app to access photos, media and files on the mobile device, click ALLOW.
