Cannot use datasets from Oracle 11g or Oracle 12c R1 with multiple geometry fields in Insights for ArcGIS

Description

Adding a dataset from an Oracle 11g or Oracle 12cR1 database will fail in Insights for ArcGIS if the dataset has multiple geometry fields and has multiple entries in USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA view.

Cause

This failure is caused by an issue in Oracle 11g or Oracle 12c R1 databases.

Workaround

Upgrade your Oracle database to a newer version.  For more information on which Oracle versions can be used with Insights, see Supported databases.
