Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime is required to install ArcGIS Maps for Office

Description

When downloading ArcGIS Maps for Office v5.0, if the Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime is missing, an error message may be received. The missing file is the Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime add-ins. 

Cause

The Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime is not detected on the local machine.

Solution or Workaround

The ArcGIS Maps for Office installation executable automatically searches for the Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime files and runs after clicking Install Prerequisites. If the prerequisite files are not detected, a red X appears.

This may be installed manually. Download and install the Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime.
