PROBLEM

The ArcGIS Full Motion Video 1.4 add-in is not available after running the file downloaded from My Esri

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Description

After downloading the Full Motion Video add-in from My Esri and running it, the ArcGIS Full Motion Video add-in does not appear in the list for extensions to enable in ArcMap.

Cause

Running the FMVv1.4_forArcGISDesktop10.6.x_165150 file downloaded from My Esri does not install the add-in. It extracts the add-in installation files to a folder specified in the wizard. The installer that is launched automatically once the extraction is completed is for the wrong installation file.

Solution or Workaround

To install the Full Motion Video add-in after extracting the installation files, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the location of the extracted folder.
Note:
The default extraction location is C:\Users\<username>\Documents\ArcGIS 10.6\FullMotionVideo.
If there are no files at the location where the installation files are extracted, ensure an extraction utility is installed, such as 7-Zip.
  1. Run ESRI.ArcGIS.Video.FullMotionVideoAddin. The add-in installation utility appears as shown in the image below:

  2. Click Install Add-In. Once the installation is complete, the Full Motion Video add-in is available in the list of extensions to enable in ArcMap.

Note:
Once the Full Motion Video add-in is installed, users can optionally install the FMV Geoprocessing Tools that expand the utility of the add-in. To install the tools, run FullMotionVideoGPToolsSetup that is also found in the same folder with ESRI.ArcGIS.Video.FullMotionVideoAddin.
