PROBLEM

Unable to view the Business Analyst Online Business and Facilities search layer in the ArcGIS Online hosted feature layer

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Description

After performing a Business and Facilities search within a Business Analyst Online project, the newly created search result layer is not visible in the ArcGIS Online hosted feature layer Item Details page. Additionally, the layer does not appear in the map viewer.

Note:
When creating a Business Analyst Online project, an associated hosted feature layer is created as an item in ArcGIS Online.

Cause

Visualization of the hosted feature layer is updated before the Business and Facilities search results layer is created.

The visualization settings can be updated in the Item Details page of the layer located under the Visualization tab. When the visualization settings are updated, a screenshot is taken of the current hosted feature layer. Therefore, new layers added to the service are not visible when viewed in the Item Details page.

Solution or Workaround

As a workaround, remove the JSON code from the data block of the hosted feature layer. The newly created search result layer is visible once the Item Details page is refreshed.

Note:
Use of ArcGIS Online Assistant is not supported by Esri Support Services, and is for advanced users only. Mistakes made when editing the JSON code of an application can irrevocably break the application. It is advisable to create a backup copy of the JSON code before editing.
The following are instructions to remove the JSON code.
  1. Using a web browser, go to https://www.ago-assistant.esri.com and select Log in to ArcGIS Online account.
