Is it possible to assign nulls to a field using the Field Calculator?
Yes, it is possible to assign nulls to a field using Field Calculator. However, assigning a null to a field is only supported for data stored in a geodatabase and when the field is nullable. In addition, null records are not supported for fields in a database file format (.dbf), even if the data is stored in a geodatabase.
Instructions provided describe how to assign nulls to a field.
Note: Values can also be set to Null using the VB Script Parser. When using VB Script, instead of entering None, enter Null in the expression box.
Note: For the above steps to work, the field being calculated must allow null values. When creating a new field, the Allow NULL values option must be set to Yes.
