Last Published: April 26, 2020

Summary

The instructions provided describe how to determine whether an ArcGIS Server service is public or internal-facing in Collector for ArcGIS. Only public-facing services can be accessed over a cellular network in Collector for ArcGIS.

The following scenarios occur if internal-facing services are accessed over a cellular network.

Procedure

  • For iOS using a cellular network

    1. Open Collector for ArcGIS on an iOS device.
    2. Click on a web map. An error occurs.

If an internal-facing service is accessed over a cellular network on an iOS device and error occurs when trying to open the web map in Collector. The error states: "Layer Not Loaded, unable to layer 'Name of Service'. A server with the specified hostname could not be found."
