Frequently asked question

Is it possible to integrate the Crystal Reports Wizard functionality in ArcGIS 10.x?

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Answer

No. It is not possible to integrate or use existing reports and templates from the Crystal Reports Wizard in ArcGIS 10.x. The functionality to create, edit, or use Crystal Reports Wizard was deprecated starting at ArcGIS for Desktop 10.0. Crystal Reports can be installed separately, but any usage of it is completely independent of Esri.

Reports previously created with Crystal Reports cannot be opened in ArcMap 10.x. However, the reports can be viewed via several viewers available for download and must be accessed using software that is compatible with Crystal Reports, as ArcGIS is no longer compatible.

To create a report, ArcGIS 10.x provides a new set of reporting tools for ArcGIS for Desktop, and users still have the ability to export data and design reports directly in Crystal Reports.

Note:
Previously created reports can still be used as long as Crystal Reports is installed. To edit the existing reports created with Crystal Reports, it is recommended to install the previous version of ArcGIS 9.x with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) version or the full version of Crystal Reports.
