Error Message

When attempting to set up ArcGIS Web Adaptor, the following error message is received:

"Error: Could not find any recognizable digits."

Cause

The error occurs due to a security setting issue in Internet Explorer, which prevents a connection from being made.

Solution or Workaround

Add ArcGIS Web Adaptor to the Local Intranet zone in Internet Explorer.

  1. Launch Internet Explorer and click the Tools button.

  2. Select 'Internet options' from the drop-down.

  3. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Security tab.

  4. Select 'Local intranet' and click the Sites button.

  5. In the Local intranet dialog, click the Advanced button.

  6. Enter the ArcGIS Web Adaptor address and click Add.

  7. Click Close.

    Note:
    Use another web browser to set up ArcGIS Web Adaptor if permission is not given to add sites in Internet Explorer.
