Find ArcPad log files

Summary

This article provides the folder location of the ArcPad.log file referenced in some error messages.

Procedure

When a serious application error occurs while working in ArcPad and the information refers to the ArcPad log file, it can be accessed from the following locations.

• Windows XP:

C:\Documents and Settings\User\*username*\Application Data\Local\Temp\ArcPad.log

• Windows 7 and 8:

C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\Temp\ArcPad.log

• Windows Mobile

\Application Data\Volatile\ArcPad.log

The location of the ArcPad log file can also be seen on the System Information tab of the About ArcPad dialog box. This dialog can be accessed from the Main toolbar under the Help menu.
