When installing Esri Production Mapping, the following installer information may be encountered:

Cause

A version of Esri Production Mapping is currently installed on the machine and the compatible version of ArcGIS for Desktop has been uninstalled.

Solution or Workaround

Esri Production Mapping is an extension to ArcGIS for Desktop and must be uninstalled before ArcGIS for Desktop is uninstalled. The compatible version of ArcGIS for Desktop must be installed to properly uninstall Esri Production Mapping.

1. Uninstall ArcGIS for Desktop.
2. Consult the list of installed programs on your machine and identify the Esri Production Mapping product that is installed.
   • Esri Production Mapping 10 is compatible with ArcGIS Desktop 10.
   • PLTS for ArcGIS – Foundation is compatible with ArcGIS Desktop 9.3.1.
3. Install the compatible version of ArcGIS for Desktop.
4. Do a complete uninstall of Esri Production Mapping or PLTS for ArcGIS – Foundation.
5. Uninstall ArcGIS for Desktop.
