Frequently asked question

What are the Advanced View Settings in ArcGlobe?

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Answer

These settings are for the Near and Far Clipping Planes. These planes assist in performance optimization by clipping areas that do not fall within the application's view.

The Advanced View Settings in ArcGlobe can be accessed from the View Menu > View Settings > Advanced.

There are times in ArcGlobe when the clipping planes need to be adjusted for the radial animation to appear correct. In the following example, a portion of the display is cut off because it is outside of the application's view.

By moving the Near Clipping Plane setting to the left (toward the observer), the entire area becomes visible.
