Last Published: April 25, 2020

Summary

When using a localized version of ArcGIS Server, the ArcGIS Server Java Manager can display text in either English or the installed local language. This article explains how to display the localized version of the ArcGIS Server Java Manager.

Procedure

The ArcGIS Server Java Manager uses the locale of the ArcGIS SOM account to determine how to display text. To display localized text in the ArcGIS Server Java Manager, follow the steps below:

  1. From the Windows Administrative Tools panel, open the Services console. From the list of available services, locate the ArcGIS Server Manager Service and determine the Windows user account that runs this service. This account is known as the ArcGIS SOM account. This account is configured by the ArcGIS server post-installation program.
  2. If logged in as a different user, log out and log in to the ArcGIS Server computer using the ArcGIS SOM user account.
  3. Select the language format and current location:
Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 and Vista: From the Control Panel, open the Regional and Language Options dialog box. On the Formats tab, set the format to be the same language as the localized version of ArcGIS Server. Similarly, on the Location tab, select the current location. Click Apply and click OK.
Windows Server 2003: From the Control Panel, open the Regional and Language Options dialog box. On the Regional Options tab, under Standards and Formats, set the format to be the same language as the localized version of ArcGIS Server. Under Location, select the current location. Click Apply and click OK.
  4. From the Services console, re-start the ArcGIS Server Manager service.
